HIV used to be a death sentence. Today, there is hope. The U.S. Government provided 14.6 million people with lifesaving treatment across the globe through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). 2.4 million babies have been born HIV-free to HIV-positive mothers and 95 million people have accessed HIV testing services. Cutting-edge HIV prevention, care and treatment services from USAID and PEPFAR partners are transforming the epidemic. However, 37 million people still live with HIV/AIDS. We’re helping countries build self-reliance as they control the epidemic. And are closer than ever to building a more secure, prosperous and AIDS-free world.
