A urinary tract infection,
or UTI, is an infection– bacterial infection or fungal
infection– of the bladder. It affects the body by creating
inflammation and infection within the bladder lining,
and it can cause symptoms that the patient can
experience either locally or systematically. Systematically the patient
can experience fever, chills, rigors, even sepsis
if severe enough. Locally the patient
can experience blood in their urine, they can
experience to dysuria, which is painful urination. They can experience bladder
pressure, discomfort.
