    A little tip I could give would be that in winter, I drink a lot of tea and I put some lemon and some honney in there : it keeps me warm, it's good, it make my throat feel good… and I ware a scarf just about all the time… except in bed. And that way, I never get sick !

    I should be in school now..but my parents are making me stay at home bacause i have the flu :'( i have really important exams next week but i feel so crappy and i need to study :/ xx

    taking a regular multivitamin can help with preventing , i have underactive thyroid which makes my immunity low and asthma which means when i get sick i get really sick , i take a multi vitamin in the morning now every day to help prevent me getting sick n it really has worked they are pretty cheap to get a hold of too

    Washing your hands frequently is real important too. Especially if you've just been in a public place and before you eat. The grocery store and gas pumps really skeeve me out. I have hand sanitizer with me to use when I can't get to a sink to wash up, like after I pump gas.

    I have been able to try and prevent getting sick by getting the flu vaccine, I take vitamins and wash my hands frequently.

    the best thing to avoid getting sick is when you shake hands with a lot of people or u go out and touch where everyone touches then if one of them is sick you will get sick so yeah i agree with Imtortured πŸ˜› soo wash ur hands and drink a lot of vitamins to keep ur immune system boosted and in schools is the worst thing ever everyone's sick even the teachers are sick and if u just touch at a pen that ur friend touched and his sick ur gonna get sick so be careful and disinfectants always with u xx

    People get scared of drinking water? I never thought of that. I'm the opposite. I feel like water is the only liquid thats okay because(like you said) it has nothing in it. hmm. CVS takes weirdo insuraces like mine I got it for free. I know you said this but one thing is if you think u might b getting it take something asap! Don't wait to see if it will get worse. If you do get it one way to get over it faster(I know everyone says this) but SLEEP. Seriously. It helps a lot! (:

    hahaha! I love your humor in this video. This was a great video idea Kati! I hate sleeping because I'm a workaholic and a perfectionist (like most of us), but when I'm sick: SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP!! Sleep is the most necessary of necessaries! I'm a huge fan of Zicam to prevent colds. Also, I've heard garlic (capsules) are a good immune system booster if you feel something coming on? I'm not sure, but it's worth looking into! They helped me, but it might have been a placebo effect!

    I'm a big fan of using natural foods to prevent getting sick. I start every day with a glass of water with half a lemon squeezed into it (which by the way is great for digestion) and sometimes i chop up some ginger and pour hot water over it. Ginger contains antioxidants which are good for your immune system and it can help you if you have a sore throat. Ginger is also great for calming your stomach. If you have a dry cough you can mix cacao with water and eat. It stops that "coughing-reflex".

    I definitely need to force myself to actually digest more water. I say digest because although I feel like I'm drinking gallons of liquids most days, I'm just using them to be able to purge more easily. It took me a while to realize why I was feeling so dehydrated when I thought I was drinking so much. Unfortunately, I was too good at purging…

    hey kati! just wanted to say that today is my birthday, had a great day, and then got to watch your video, which was the cherry on top of my sundae πŸ™‚ love ur videos πŸ™‚ i've been struggling nearly half my life with an eating disorder which is pretty lame and sad. your vids help motivate me to make the small changes – like drinking water. i never do, but now i have filled up a bottle and got it next to me.

    Veggie soup!!! with TONNES of garlic in it at the onset of the flu… I swear by it!!! Hardest but best thing to do too is rest and try not to exercise; that being said, I have found yoga to be great, with certain poses really opening up through the respiratory system and clear sinuses πŸ˜€

    You always have perfect timing on your videos. I've been out with stomach flu the past few days and have totally been using the 'side effects' of being sick to my ED's advantage. Have to laugh though because it seems like no one around me has noticed that, but it definitely feels like you just called me out on that, so I suppose I should go drink some water. -_-

    I practically breathe water I drink so much! I wouldn't be able to function without it. That and coffee:P I always feel so alert and fresh after I drink a big glass of water:) I haven't had a flu shot..but I probably should since I have asthma as well:S my only dilemma is that I have a phobia of doctors haha:/ xxx

    Echinacea, Vitamin C, Garlic and probiotics are my key to beating the flu/a cold. So far I've managed to avoid getting the flu even during the worst of my anorexia :).

    I just wanted to let people know that the shot really doesn't hurt. I am TERRIFIED of needles to the point that I start to hyperventilate (as i did when i was getting the shot) and honestly the needle didn't hurt that all. It was a super tiny prick. I feel really stupid after carrying on so much, but to anyone who hates shots it really wasn't all that bad!

    I haven't had the flu shot in a few years..but to be honest, I hate having the flu but at the same time I don't mind it because I don't have to eat and if I do I have an excuse to purge. P.s I love how you make your videos so interesting unlike those videos some ppl make that put you to sleep when you are watching them..and you have some kick ass fighting moves LOL!

    this year I managed not getting ill somehow .. until now . everyone around me was sick .. i did a lot of exercise ..when I ate .. I ate clean so I didnt get sick so quickly this time .. but and at the moment I'm trying to fight that stupid flu with Spirulina (awesome stuff), lots and lots of tea ..and ginger-tea !!!( Ginger is soooo good for us!!!) vitamin C and antibacterial coughdrops. I hope to get better soon to be able to exercise again =)

    Green smoothies. fruit and lots of greens, blend. A quart a day. Stops most colds in their tracks.

    This is a pretty great video… I do have something on the flu shot, however. I think it depends on the person on whether or not they should actually get the flu shot. I'm 25 & I've never had a flu shot. I'm under the care of an asthma & allergy specialist and she told me to absolutely not get a flu shot. It could really wreck havoc with my asthma. I've had the flu 3x in the last 6 years. My eating disorder has done little to help with my immune system, so, yeah, it's lower… I'm more concerned about bronchitis than the flu…

    I have never and will never get a flu shot. Unless of course, they make a magic vaccine that is like a forcefield that works perfectly. I havent had the flu in about 12 years. Definitely get hydrated. You can use plain electrolyte water for tea and soup and to add too emergen-c or propel makes a powder electrolyte drink.

    In March did 24 hr fast 3 days in a row and I suffered from a fever now followed by flu ?
