Is Green Tea Effective Against Candida?

August 14, 2019

Thanks for checking out this video today.
Just doing a quick video on green tea and Candida. I’ve got a question here from a lady
in London called Sara. Sara has emailed me saying, Eric, is green tea effective with
yeast infections? Green tea is a really good drink to have if
you’ve got Candida for multiple reasons. One reason why I like green tea is because of
its good antioxidant effects. Antioxidants are very important properties that many different
high quality natural foods and medicines can confer on your body like quenching what we
call “free radical damage.” Spend maybe a bit of time on Google. I’m not going to tell
you what antioxidants are and what free radical quenching is and things like that.
Foods which have got very powerful antioxidant properties about them are like blueberries,
green tea, avocados. There are different foods like that which have got a very good ability
to quench potential damage in the body that could lead to things like cancer.
Green tea has got very powerful antioxidants called epigallocatechins, ECGs. These particular
antioxidants have got a very good ability to actually bust up biofilming Candida. There
are various research papers I’ve been reading that these epigallocatechins have a nice ability
to actually bust up the existing biofilm of Candida and prevent biofilm really from happening.
There is some potential there for beneficial use of one to two cups of a good quality green
tea per day when you’ve got a yeast infection. The best green tea to drink is the Matcha
Tea. Dr. Joseph Mercola speaks about Matcha Tea as well. Matcha Tea is a high quality
Japanese green tea. It’s almost like a bright emerald green color when you look at it, so
I love green tea. Particularly when I go out eating good quality Japanese food at a restaurant,
I’ll ask for a quality green tea. Green tea is a bit like wine. You’ve got the
budget stuff. You’ve got the intermediate range like $10 a bottle or something, and
then you’ve got the top end. You’ve got the expensive wines and expensive green teas.
Be prepared to pay a lot of money for a high quality green tea, particularly a Matcha Tea.
When you drink one good cup of Matcha Tea per day, you’re really helping your body to
build a powerful immune defense. You’re helping to reduce the potential for cancer. Plus you’re
actually helping to bust up any Candida biofilm. One or two cups of good green tea per day.
I love green tea and I often drink it in the afternoons when I have my patients coming
into my practice. I’ll have one good cup of green tea in the afternoon. I love Matcha
Tea. It’s expensive, but it’s definitely worth it. So if you want to have a really powerful
effect on immune function, think about drinking one good cup of green tea per day.
Thanks for tuning in.

Is Tetleys pure Green tea with mint any good?

Hi my tounge had developed severe yellow coating of the entire tounge for the last couple of years, I had tried brushing scraping my tounge daily with out success. I recently had severe tonsillitis, and started drinking tea again with some lemon and honey, but also gargaling warm salt water. with in the week I now have a brand new tongue, pink and healthy. Would the warm salt water have assisted in addressing this issue?
My other question, is previously I had been told it was a oral thrush, but my specialist, after several treatments of antibiotics failed was concern it maybe a ealy sign of some form of auto immune disease. What are your thoughts on this.
    Thanks

I added a couple splashes of ACV to my green tea. It has been helping my oral thrush. I'm on day 2…looks better already and less of a burning sensation on my tongue.

Hello, Dr. Bakker! Thank you for this video , the timing is perfect. I have been curious as to a natural, gentle way to break up the biofilm on candida. As I understand it, it is essential to do so to aid in the healing of infection, and for assisting in the prevention of further difficulties. Again, thank you…Cheers, Suki.

Green tea in loose leaves form is good. Organic is better as it fights off candida. I had sugar cravings but after drinking green tea, unsweetened, the sugar craving went away and fatigue gone..

Had to Quit sugar and smoking and drinking alcohol. Because I got thrush. fell like I am 1 step away from going completely" insane my throat is closing. Now I got to quit coffee because I cant stop drinking it, and it's bad for thrush. This all happened after I took antibiotics. It's good to know I can have green tea for caffeine. This is a real mental breakdown crisis for me and I hope I make it through this tuff time in my life for my kid sake I am a single father trying to make it through and I dont really got anyone to vent to so ya if anyone reads this and would like to share something with me it would be cool to hear some feed back thanks

Your videos are fascinating! Query: when I drink matcha, sometimes it gives me a stomach ache. While I know that it fights candida, could inflammation in my stomach slow down healing and getting free of candida? I assume so…

Doesn't green tea contain caffeine that were meant to avoid?

  • Reply Luisa Moore June 19, 2019 at 5:02 am

I’ve heard that matcha is so high in caffeine that it can adversely affect the adrenals (already under strain because of leaky gut/candida/SIBO). What do you think?
