Is Greek Yogurt Good For Candida Cleanse?

Greetings, Eric Bakker, Naturopath. I’ve got a question here from a subscriber. Eric, is Greek yogurt good for candida cleanse? Greek yogurt is very good, but you’ve got
to find the right Greek yogurt, that’s the problem. Not all Greek yogurts are alike. It’s like being in a relationship. There’s lots of people that you can be in
a relationship with, but there’s only some people that will be really compatible with
you and that you really like and that you want to be with long term. Yogurt is the same. There’s tons out there, but you gotta find
the right one that suits you. Make sure that when you get a yogurt that
it’s a good sour yogurt without any high fructose corn syrup in it, without any aspartame in
it, or other crap in it. No fruit in it. Be very careful. Read labels. Talk to the manufacturer. Check out their website. Many people make their own yogurts don’t make
it correctly and end up with gut problems. Often high quality commercially made good
sour Greek yogurt is fine. A subscriber recently told me that what I’m
saying is incorrect. He said, “You’re telling people to avoid cow’s
milk, but you’re telling them that yogurt’s okay. What’s wrong with you, mate?” And I’m saying, “Well hang on, buddy.” When you’ve got yogurt, the lactose is gone
out of the yogurt, it’s consumed during that fermentation process or that culture process,
I should say because yogurt’s a cultured food. But the casing is still there. The A1 B to caesin which is allergenic is
still in that product. Now for many people, the advantages of yogurt
outweigh the disadvantages, providing two things that at small amounts, they incorporate
it into their diet at the right time, okay, and having the right quality of yogurt. This is the thing. There’s a lot of crap out there. If you get the right yogurt, even better. If you’re having a problem with Greek yogurt,
switch to coconut yogurt for the first three months. And then slowly incorporate the Greek yogurt. One of my patients made a very interesting
observation. She started with the coconut yogurt, and in
a period of about three to six months, she went from 100% coconut yogurt, she put a little
bit of Greek yogurt with it, and then she started to do a 50/50, 75/25, and then she
went into the Greek yogurt and she had no gut problem at all. Clever move, to slowly do the switch, and
you can do the same thing. So Greek yogurt is very good for cleanse. Best time in my opinion for yogurt, in my
opinion, is in the evening before bedtime, just a small bowl of that stuff. You may want to start with one tablespoon
of yogurt per night, no more than a tablespoon. All right? Then just slowly work up to maybe two or three
tablespoons. You don’t need a lot of yogurt. I like yogurt and cucumber. I think it’s a great combination. Give it a try. Thanks for tuning in.

    Eric – would you kindly privide some clarification please – when health practitioners say "dairy free", do they mean nothing made from cows milk, except greek yoghurt?? I was advised to go dairy free which I did, but am allowed block butter (such as Lurpak, President), and also allowed ghee. I have no problems with these. I was also told I can drink laban (fermented milk cooling drink very common in Arab, Turkish and Indo-Pak cultures. Its salted.) I also have no problem with this. However I was never told I could have greek yoghurt. I'm getting excited now lol

    Hi Eric thank you for your information sharing. My question is, is goat yogurt or goat greek yogurt okay with candida cleanse? I am always looking for new, nutritional, easy recipes. This question because I would like to make yogurt bread.

    I'm Bulgarian, so we eat a lot of yogurt, but we call it "sour milk". Even one of our national dishes is "таратор" – yogurt, water, cucumber, garlic, walnuts, salt, fresh dill and I add a little bit of sharlan (non refined vegetable oil) and black sesame. Very delicious but it gives me hell.
