How To Get RID Of Biofilms

August 15, 2019

Greetings. It’s New Zealand naturopath, Eric
Bakker, author of Candida Crusher and formulator of Canxida, the Candida dietary supplements
of choice. Thanks for tuning into my video. Today, we’re going to talk about biofilm eradication.
You may have seen some of my other videos explaining about biofilms, how they are basically
micro colonies that form of bacteria, yeast, or even a combination of both of those, and
they live in various parts of the body. They can live in the nose. They can cause dental
plaque. They can be involved in vaginal yeast infection, jock itch, in the gut, and many
other areas of the body these colonies can form. And they cover themselves with a particular
type of a layer, and that’s why they’re called a biofilm. They can be hard to eradicate.
Biofilm eradication really requires a multi-stage approach. You’re not really going to nail
this thing just with one thing. Taking a pill isn’t really going to cut it. You need to
do a little bit more than that. Let’s just go over a few different things you can really
do to help eradicate biofilm. We have to really prevent a biofilm formation
in the first place. We have to really disrupt the attachment of the biofilm to the surface
that it’s adhered to. We have to also interfere with what we call “quorum sensing.” Quorum
sensing is something I’ve spoken about in a previous video. This is basically how the
bugs communicate with each other inside these colonies. For a colony to really thrive there
has to be a lot of cooperation going on. Food has to go into the colony, and wastes have
to be transported out. And they have to reproduce quite effectively, and quorum sensing is a
complicated term explaining how that cooperation occurs. So we’ve got to disrupt this cooperation.
We have to modulate the type of biofilm. What we’ve got to do is shift the biofilm to planktonic
bacteria. I’ve spoken previously about what planktonic bacteria and biofilm are. Think
about planktonic bacteria or yeast as like yeast or bacteria floating freely versus the
biofilm, where they live in colonies. What we want to do is shift the film into the planktonic
type, so the immune system can really nail these little things getting around in the
bloodstream. And we’ve got to promote detachment of the biofilm to break the biofilm up.
We have to disrupt the shield, the actual shield. So think of it like a glass dome and
you’ve got a city living inside a glass dome. You’ve got to smash this dome, break it, so
we can get in there, and pull these buildings apart. Mechanical and physical means and also
there’s herbal medicines I recommend that I use that are very effective in smashing
the shield and helping to pulverize these buildings down. And then the last one is development
of biofilm resistant surfaces. So what we want to really do is give a good course of
probiotics to help stop attachment of these bugs onto these surfaces to build the biofilm
all over again. As I mentioned previously, people often with
very low levels of beneficial bacteria that I see in stool tests are much more prone to
serious biofilm formation. I see that routinely in stool tests. There are many different types
of herbs that I use for biofilm eradication. And I developed a product for Candida, but
it also works beautifully for biofilm eradication. And that’s called Canxida Remove. It contains
all the key things in it you want, and I’ll explain more about these kinds of herbal medicines
in subsequent videos. But you really want to get a good standardized garlic extract.
You want to get oregano oil. You want to get grapefruit seed extract. You want to use different
kinds of herbs that are specifically indicated for working on bacteria and on Candida, and
they’re going to help to break the shield down, disrupt the quorum communication, kill
directly, eradicate, inhibit reproduction, muck up the food supply. All these things
are going to really be achieved by giving a very good balanced herbal formula in a time-released
product. And that’s why I developed Canxida Remove because I knew that most people with
serious Candida infections, in fact, have got biofilm.
Anyone with chronic Candida will almost certainly have a biofilm in their digestive system that
needs eradicating and in other parts of their body as well. And in Candida Crusher, my book,
you can actually read about “Chapter 5 for women”, for example, and men, explains about
how to remove infection. Jock itch, for example, vaginal infection, there are other parts in
my book where I explain how to get rid of Candida on the skin and also the mouth and
in the nose and around the scalp and other areas as well.
You really want to eradicate biofilms by working topically on the hot spots, by working with
the proper nutrition and stopping, obviously, the food supply by taking out the sugars and
yeast from the diet, and by looking at your lifestyle. I’ve already made videos to explain
to you about adrenal fatigue and how thyroid and adrenal dysfunction will cause a problem
with your immune system. And this problem, in turn, will prevent your body’s ability
to naturally eradicate these biofilms by producing sufficient amounts of hormones like cortisol
to amp up the immune system. So you really need to understand that biofilm
eradication is a holistic treatment. One pill won’t cut it. You need to really if you want
to cure this thing and get rid of it, you’re going to do it the right way. Check out
or look at my book, Candida Crusher. And also check out That product is perfect
for biofilm. I’d like you to take anywhere between one to three tablets per day with
food for about three months. With serious biofilm, you might need to be on it for longer,
even up to six months. That’s a great biofilm eradicator.
Thanks for tuning into my video today.

Thanks!!  This is exactly what I have.  I'm currently being treated for this.

Can you advise for scalp and nose / lower sinus suspected areas for topical treatments or nasal spray- Apple cider vinegar or baking soda hair wash and neti-pot for example expected to be effective? Are sugars and yeasts found in fermented foods, and in organic ACV? (counter-productive – have heard some claim this?) Is Pau D'Arco considered an effective agent against the biofilm/ chronic candida colonies? Thanks again for the great information! Sincerely

    Dr. Bakker,
What do you think of the paleo diet for autoimmune diseases? There are many paleo-lovers claiming that abstaining from grains and legumes will cure any autoimmune disease and that one should forever stay away from legumes and grains. Your thoughts? How have you handled autoimmune diseases in your practice?
I ask because I have a cousin who suffers from an autoimmune disorder and I want to help him out. We are Mexican and LOVE our beans so I am having a tough time believing that we have to give up legumes and grains forever! Other paleo lovers with a laxer approach, like Chris Kesser (what is your opinion of his protocol?) stress that many people can begin to eat things they have given up for health again in the future. Even dairy!

Hey, i am asking for my sister who doesn't use youtube haha
she can't go to "number 2" unless she starts the day with half a litter of prune juice, she has candida in her private part and in her anus and she wants to know what shall she do? she can replace it with 1 litter of apple juice, but if she won't take either one she'll need to go back to laxatives and she used to be bullimic so that's a huge problem as she tends to go crazy on those, any advice? thanks and have a good one

Hey Dr. Bakker. Jack Wolf here from the west coast of Canada. My compliments on some truly amazing videos and my thanks for your efforts in helping us candida sufferers have a hope for recovery. I have been fighting this thing for nearly 12 years now, mostly through diet. In fact I had symptoms for years but wasted about 4 years of my time going to MDs who either didn't know what was wrong with me or who thought it was all in my head. No doubt you have heard this a million times before from other clients and readers. I have learned more in a few months from your videos and websites than I have learned in the past dozen years – so a heartfelt THANK YOU, sir! Reading your book is next on my list. Regards, – Jack

My Lord in heaven, why don't many doctors know this stuff? I have been going to doctors for a year now. My life has been miserable, they keep pawning me off. I am not a lunatic, I'm an educated woman, and have been saying for over a year now that I know this is yeast related the problems I'm having. No one will listen to me. No one will hear my symptoms and help me. You have no idea what I have been through and the pain and suffering I endure. I just wish someone would listen to me. You are the first person that has made sense to me. I am literally at my wits' end. I don't know how much more I can take I'm telling you.

Hello! I have a chronic vaginal infection called bv. I tried everything to get rid of it. Lots of days I drink lots of water and eat leafy greens. I'm on a probotic and natural bacterial fighting pills. I was going to add a biofilms vitamin defenser. Also researching this another doctor said that minerals such as iron, magnesium, etc. can feed the bacteria. What's your opinion on this?

  • Reply just1certifiable May 27, 2016 at 7:04 am

As a sufferer with a systemic problem I've tried these oils (and many other things) and have even temporarily gotten rid of the gut biofilm, but what always happens is that the pathogenic organisms and fungus quickly take evasive action and migrate throughout the body and return when it's safe, kill off the opposition (the beneficial you've implanted) and recolonize again. The gut is also not the only place they set up biofilm colonies.. How do you get to them when they're in your back, legs or brain?

I have a skin yeast infection in my armpits that started from using antibacterial soap. Oxistat clears it about 98%. Does skin yeast make a biofilm over it, as well? If so, what can be applied topically to destroy the biofilm? I am afraid to continue on the rx and be possibly making this yeast stronger.

Have you ever worked with clients who have klebsiella oxytoca and klebsiella pneumoniae – I did a comprehensive stool test – I have used biofilm distrupters and did kill sups as well – over and over for almost 2'years and still feel my gut is not healed – thoughts ?

  • Reply Stephanie Burgee March 16, 2017 at 4:31 pm

Thank you for making this video! I got tested with a comprehensive stool test and they found a pathogen of Klebsiella pneumoniae, with high amounts of E.Coli and Citrobacter freundii ( and some missing good bacteria). This biofilm approach has started to help tremendously (Ive been suffering with widespread tendonitis and arthritis for 3 years, eye floaters, ringing in the ears, headaches, calcifications in soft tissues and fatigue). I've tried lots of different approaches but have seen very little improvement until starting with biofilm. I had to start with biofilm myself because my naturopathic doctor doesn't really have any experience with infections to give me any advice. We tried anti-microbials like Oregano and plant-tannins alone with no improvement, until I started eating raw garlic and had an AHA moment, when my ear ringing improved and my squeezing headache disappeared. I'm convinced this is going to be the answer, while also following your crusher diet. I have a question though about Candida, on the mycology section of the stool test it said "no growth". I kind of found it hard to believe I didn't have any fungal growth since I've been pumping sugar like a beast for 29 years. When it says no growth of anything under mycology, what does this mean exactly? I don't have a white tongue, or any another skin or vaginal symptoms of a fungal overgrowth ( to my knowledge). I guess I am just confused about the meaning of that.

Ive noticed systemic enzymes taken not with meals helps me feel better. Do you need this to get rid of candida? some say only enzymes break up biofilm and the wall.. or are antifungals good enough?

  • Reply Liam O'Donnell March 31, 2017 at 11:36 am

I had a stool test showed no growth of candida. However, my urine test showed a high out of range arabinose level. Therefore, candida overgrowth in small intestine.

Will Grapefruit seed extract help with the candida biofilm? because i believe i've had this problem for 2-3 years but only recently started having bad symptoms.

  • Reply Liam O'Donnell March 31, 2017 at 12:01 pm

Hi, I tested very high for Arabinose on a urine test, no candida in stool but very high in urine which basically means it's in my stomach/small intestines. I've had this issue for around 2-3 years as well so I'm pretty sure there's biofilm.

I was wondering is grapefruit seed extract good for candida biofilm?

Also, I want to start taking garlic and ginger into my diet but it's quite hard taking them raw. Will it be beneficial to take them in yogurt when I have vegetables etc.

Thank you … I followed treatments and then surgery of the upper left lung following mycobacterium kansasii and fungus aspergilus fumigatus in my lungs. And after 7 years my scar made holes that bleed for 3 years without closing. Nothing appears to the scanners and nothing to the biopsy. Just change the dressing every day and wait. I also spit white foam, then transparent glue of the lungs … Nothing special to the taking of blood. My doctor just says it's better that I spit it rather than keep it in the lungs … but I also swallow it a lot …

  • Reply Sandrine DEVILLE July 29, 2017 at 7:12 pm

And also I wonder if this transparent glue are not biofilms that have formed in my nose, my intestines and my lungs … (I hope the online translator translates quite well) I am in France and so I do not know if I can buy your product … for now I take curcumin, aloe vera … and maybe propolis for the immune system … but the oil of Oregon I stopped taking it because I am afraid for my liver fragile … I am a little lost also in the management of all this and my attempt to straighten my hygiene life totally destructured.

Hi Eric, thanks for the information. I have been using enzymes, probiotics and natural anti fungals to treat median rhomboid glossitis. The biofilm on the surface of my tongue is receding since I started using the enzymes 3 weeks ago. I also have hard lumps inside the flesh of my tongue, these don't seem to be getting smaller yet. The kissing legion on my palate has retreated quite quickly but is now dug in and the last little patch is more resilient. I was wondering if you have heard of biofilm forming hard lumps inside anyone's tongue before? The doctors and UK dentists are apparently absolutely clueless about candida and biofilms and are of no use what so ever in its treatment. Many thanks for your great YouTube channel, it's a life saver.
