    Solid plan.

Will Truvada become the new pill wheree many say they're on it, but not really taking it?
Will it be the new pill you foget to take and all hell breaks loose afterwards??

  • Reply Julian Kozłowski June 5, 2015 at 6:41 pm

This would be something if not for the fact that it is only distributed in the US by a company looking to make a profit. This restricts this drugs demographic and a more fitting title would be "stopping the epidemic of HIV in the USA in the upper middle class"
It will certainly help a big deal but people will forget to take it daily, and that just needs to happen once for a bunch of people to get infected.

You can also cure aids by injecting liquefied U.S. currency into your bloodstream. Thats how Magic Johnson is still alive.

  • Reply bina9969 June 5, 2015 at 10:14 pm

Does anyone else find this bizarre? If you want to have orgies, explore your sexuality and experiment with multiple partners I absolutely believe that's your right to indulge in those pleasures without guilt or shame BUT by no means does this drug eliminate the concerns or risks that come with those actions – minimize them?…Maybe. But it's wildly irresponsible of Mr. prepWarrior to advocate for the removal of fear when engaging in unprotected sex with anyone. I am a straight woman but I don't fail to see the importance of the gay community and the way they are beautifully impacting our societies by elevating and opening peoples minds to a broader more vibrant picture of what love, sex and relationships are. I would hate to see this pill be looked back on in 50 years and be known as the drug that caused other sexually transmitted diseases to run rampant within any community of people.

  • Reply Stephen Marcus June 5, 2015 at 10:54 pm

The anti – PrEP guy Is the only person here not making money off of the drug. He raises interesting points as we don't know the long term effects of this drug nor a condomless society.
This video ignores the spike in antibiotic resistant STD which a decline in condom use will increase. I'm also concerned how the two men taking this drug do not consider sexual morality which is important to many gay men. Sex positive does not mean orgies and undermines the fight for equality.

These people act like abstinence is impossible for people to practice and will cause you to die of pon farr.  Guys, if you don't want HIV, your first thought should ALWAYS be to either ask your partner if he/she has it AHEAD of time or just plain don't have sex with him/her.

So what I gathered from this series is that you can take this Truvada and it still allows the HIV to be exposed to the body, it just stops the replication of it. So correct me if I'm wrong, you can never stop taking Truvada if you are with a HIV infected partner? If I were also taking the medication and I were to have sex with an infected person, the HIV enters my body I break up with this person and months later is the HIV cell (sorry I'm not a doctor haha) still in my body and can replicate itself after I stop taking Truvada?

All of the dialogue about Truvada ending HIV seems overly optimistic.  It's all well a good if you are lucky enough to live in a country in which you can afford the cost of the drugs.  But unless there is a program to provide Truvada to undeveloped countries this drug will not end the spread of HIV.

  • Reply avlkush June 6, 2015 at 6:47 pm

If a person is HIV ridden then they will be truvavda forever, if someone ismarried to them then they will be on it forever as well, either to Previn or after they get it. Is this epsilon sponsored by truvavda.

  • Reply thoma capo June 7, 2015 at 4:28 am

This is so wrong on so many levels this doctors should get striped of their lisence for advocating this preventive measures, take a pill a day to prevent  and eradicate HIV?this is not like vaccination you have to continuously take the pill daily $$$$$$$$.Guess what no more Grants for vaccination research, since this model of treatment is accepted by the public, and since big pharma has all the money to grant for research guess what they are going to invest on and we are not talking about just aids here people but a plethora of   diseases .  we can end this disease this doctors are advocating by taking truvada? Which means that  a healthy person who chooses not to take truvada is essentially a menace to society because he or she is contributing to the chance that HIV might live on. What's next, hospitals shouldn't screen blood banks for HIV, why should they pay for such preventive measures, the individual is responsible and should be taking Truvada????

  • Reply MersyanchezForever June 7, 2015 at 1:02 pm

1 pill of Truvada costs 50$.
You need 18250$ to take it everyday for a year.
Now how will that stop HIV in Africa – the continent which needs HIV prevention drug the most?
    Who will pay for this?

That prEP advocate, Damon, has been pissing me off the entire series.  Every single sexual encounter has been tinged with fear? Yeah, you mean like women who risk pregnancy every single time they deal with semen? Measures are taken to insure that the risk is REAAAAL low, but there is ALWAYS a risk.  So. Privileged. To think that he has the right to not go through that.

Also, this is worth mentioning.  I do not know how long the HIV virus can live in the body of a host who is on Truvada.  But there are such things as negative carriers, who don't contract the disease themselves but still carry strains of the virus in their body which they can spread to others. And just because you take the EXTRA step to protect yourself, you shouldn't be putting your partners at increased risk.  Which by condomless sex in a not completely monogamous situation (no judgement, no shade) you are.  Not to mention, oh ALL THE OTHER STIS.  It's not all about HIV and your butt sex.  Again. So. Privileged.

  • Reply tosheatower July 16, 2015 at 7:40 am

This just doesn't sit right with me.  Of course I don't think people should have to be ''scared'' to have sex, but on the other hand are gay men really that scared?  I mean seems to me most of us are still fucking anything that moves so how scared can we really be?  Also, condoms don't just prevent HIV – HELLO!!!  I mean to tell all these people 'oh take some pill so you can have sex without condoms' is morally irresponsible, what about all the other STD it doesn't prevent – AND my own personal fear – who says that encouraging 'unsafe' sex practices because of this pill won't lead to the next NEW DEADLY STD.  I mean HIV wasn't an issue – till it was.   I just don't get it, why is being sexually discriminating, virtuous and responsible such a bad thing?

I think that Truvada is a great drug and I am taking it at the moment. However, there is an issue that if we give up condoms entirely on the casual side of sex, we risk another epidemic coming into our backyard. Aids came out of nowhere as do many plagues and unfortunately mother nature has a way of cooking up yet another virus for us to deal with…A cautionary note…embrace truvada, but don't give up your usual safer sex attitudes especially when people can still contract other STDS.

Because of this idiots HIV will be arround for a long long time…..the same people that did all the spreading of this shit in the 80s…..They were told Aids kills, everyone had enough proof of that, or if one get lucky you keep on living like a leper, they explained exactly how to contract it …..nevertheless they didn't listen….just acted like a F%^%@ party going on and that safety recommendations were against their right to be like they wanted to be…..Nobody in their sane mind will take this pill as a vaccine and really believe they won't be at any risk, ….and those who have it already ….will have to be really irresponsible to risk everybody else….good luck if some imbecile knowing someone is infected with "this" will have sex after all…. condoms never have been 100% secure….if the HIV status (positive or negative] of each person was exposed I really doubt people will get together with those infected not even with a 100 condoms.
If something as sure as death or handicap, stigmatization, social throw aside, is just within your reach for some sex time , WHY The F%^^^ people risk themselves….You REALLY need to know the other person first, and if necessary (which I think will be in a couple of years} ask for medical records at least to see if there is any danger small or big on any STDs…..All of them pharmaceutical companies…. They will make millions out the poor gullible people, +most of them children at schools being educated by these morons+…..as they have made all these years…..Drug addicts….Have your own kit, don't share….but I guess they will get really really stupid after the first shot…..++++++++++How may more of these many of us will have to keep seeing because of this disease….+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
maybe a little bit more……thank you for this gift you keep giving us for your lack of EVERYTHING!!!!

  • Reply genconex December 13, 2015 at 7:24 pm

    I watched all three parts.
Here's the red flag that has registered in my brain:
Truvada is used by HIV+ individuals to help suppress the virus to undetectable levels.
If a HIV- person takes this drug as a preventive measure daily how would they know with 100% certainty that they haven't contracted HIV but it's being maintained at undetectable levels by the use of this medication?

  • Reply Paulo Leonel January 6, 2016 at 9:25 am

Too good to be true, too easy to be true. This looks like an ad for the fake jewelry on the Shopping Channel. This is like the bugchaser/bareback stuff. You know that HIV is a disease that could kill you if you're exposed to it? You want to know how to end HIV epidemic, simple: You test ALL the citizens, you cure all the citizens with Syphillis, Gonorrea, Hep and other diseases, then you give the HIV positive people all the best medicine and extract part of their blood in order to search for the Cure. In a 5 year period the vacine should be ready and then you have the end of this epidemic. If all people is healthy we all will be happy.

  • Reply George Houston February 21, 2016 at 3:03 pm

So many problems with this…..People lie. they may tell you they're on PrEP but are in fact maybe being treated for HIV infection. Understand that despite the best instructions and advice of the medical community, it is very difficult to keep people compliant with their medication regimens.

This fool on here is supporting condom-less sex and refusing to worry about STI's is so extremely dangerous….just because he wants raw dick.

Consider this…..since in fact HIV regimens can bring one to undetectable levels; it shouldn't be a far stretch that one could contract HIV on Truvada (PrEP) and test negative because the drug is keeping them BDL

Always use a condom is the the moral of the story…….sexual freedom…What a joke. Even nature tell you; you cannot have random unprotected sex without consequences

Responsible behavior is vitally important for the entire population's betterment and wellbeing. Going around, sticking your dick into anyone you find sexually attractive without using protection is very narcissistic and irresponsible as fuck. No sympathy for people who are so careless for themselves and others health who get infected.
