How to do the laundry when someone has a stomach bug (norovirus)

November 13, 2019

Hi, I’m Dr. Annie. Today, I’m going to show you how to do the laundry when someone in the house has a stomach bug. The reason this is important is because stomach bugs are so contagious. Viruses, like norovirus, can live for weeks on household surfaces, including the laundry. One drop of vomit or diarrhea can have a million germs. It only takes a few germs to make someone else sick. It is highly unlikely that all of the germs are going to die in a normal cycle in the washer and dryer. So, it is extremely important to be very careful with the laundry, and I’m going to show you how.

This is awesome. I’m going to share this. I wash clothing that cant be washed in bleach, in Sodium Percarbonate…I let it soak for about 30-45 minutes or more. My water is also 135degrees and I do NOT have an HE Washer.

Have you tried the bleach just with 30 degree Celsius / 86 f to see what happens? Could you try doubling up the washing powder and see what happens? Are you using non biological or biological washing powder? Could you test the difference between those please? I like watching these tests. 🙂
