How Do I Know If My Candida Is Gone?

August 18, 2019

Hi there, Eric Bakker from New Zealand, the
naturopath from way down under in New Zealand. Thanks for coming back. I have a question from a subscriber here. Let’s have a look, what does this person say? Thank you so much, your videos have really
helped me through the process. The best sources on the web for sure. Thank you for that. My symptoms have improved. How do I know if the candida is gone or reduced
to normal levels? Well, did you have candida to start with? How do you know you had candida? Did you test for candida? Remember, I said it repeatedly, over half
the people I see who swear they have candida in fact have no yeast infection at all, we
couldn’t find it in the stool test, in the culture, we couldn’t even find it with the
microscope in the stool. So they had no candida. What they generally have are a bacterial imbalance
in terms of lack of beneficial bacteria or they’ve got too many imbalanced flora. So bacteria for example like citrobakter or
klebsiella which are normal in the stool but now they’re becoming higher amounts and become
a problem. It’s like some people in society. They’re okay, they’re cool when the cops around. When the cops go away, they turn into animals. You see them on the subway, go look on YouTube,
you see some interesting videos of people on planes, you know, on buses and trains and
stuff, getting thrown off because they act like fools. Well, bacteria act like fools in our gut. They act stupid some times, they can do dumb
things. They can start pushing other bacteria around
and causing problems. They can even cause a lot of inflammation,
they can cause massive problems. So don’t be fooled, you may have a bacterial
problem which you think is a candida problem. Never make assumptions. My old man used to see, “If you assume, you
make an ass out of you and me.” I like that one. So that’s the question. Have you got candida? You may not have had it. But let’s assume that you did have candida. Again, retesting will show if it’s there or
if it’s not there. So how do you know? Well, generally you will know you haven’t
got a problem in the gut through lack of symptoms. So if your energy is good, if your sleep patterns
are great, if your appetite is good, if there is no pain in the body or sensations, if there’s
no gas or bloating, if you have normal bowel motions every day. Basically, if you feel really good. If I don’t feel good, I know it’s ’cause I’ve
done something dumb. And usually, if it’s me, I’ve had too much
red wine or whiskey or something like that or I didn’t sleep enough because I was making
too many videos or doing something stupid like that. So when there’s an imbalance in your life,
the consequences are physical, emotional, whatever it is, there’s a disturbance in your
body that needs fixing up, all right? So yeah, so that’s how I would reply to your
question, how do I know? You will know it through a lack of symptoms
and a very good sense of wellbeing. Just remember, though, lack of symptoms doesn’t
mean to say that you’re truly well. Right? So it does pay, at least once per year, to
get a complete blood count done, to get a blood work up on kidneys, on liver, on iron,
on B12 and vitamin D and stuff like that. I mean, it’s a very smart thing to do. It’s just do an annual blood test, on your
birthday is a good time to do it. When you get older like me, you’ve got a whole
stack of blood test results and then you can look back and see, you know, was I bad? Am I getting better? Does anything need improving? So I always like the idea of testing and measuring. So we’re testing something, then seeing if
there’s a problem, fixing it up, measuring response, retesting. That way you’re always on track. So that’s how you know you’ve got no candida. Either through testing and generally, the
better idea is testing and absence of symptoms and feeling really good. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for the question.
