Georgetown Professor on Flu Myths #1

October 15, 2019

(upbeat music) – So, the flu vaccine is
the single best method to prevent catching the
flu, but the influenza virus is very clever, it evolves
and changes quite rapidly, so that means last year’s flu vaccine isn’t effective against
this year’s flu strain. What that means is everyone
should get their flu shot, early in the fall, every
single year, and in fact, our past work shows that
consistent re-vaccination from year to year has
an even bigger impact in reducing flu than expected.
