Dr. Iovine Chomp The Flu 2019

November 29, 2019

No! Absolutely not. No way. Can’t happen. Never. No. No. No. No. No. No. So after you get the flu shot, it takes about two weeks for your body to mount the fully protective immune response. So if you were exposed to the flu virus during those two weeks, you might still
be susceptible to getting the flu. You might get sick but it’s very likely
it will be much less severe than if you hadn’t had your flu shot at all. There
can be some really severe complications from getting the flu. So when you get your flu shot, you’re protecting not only yourself but those around you, those in
the community around you and also those in your household. This is really important because there are a lot of people whose immune systems are weakened and are susceptible to getting, not only severe complications from flu, but also
their bodies might not respond as well to the flu vaccine and might not be as
well protected as other people. So when you get your flu shot and you are
protected that reduces the chance that you might transmit the virus to somebody
with a weakened immune system, somebody who’s more vulnerable. Hashtag, Chomp the flu!
