Does Candida Occur Due To An Over Consumption Of Fats When Combined With Sugar In The Diet?

Greetings. Eric Bakker, naturopath from New Zealand. Here’s a very interesting question. “I’ve read lots of this stuff online and I’m
going to give you a good reply to this one. There’s an emerging conversation that Candida
occurs not as a result of too much sugar in our diet, but as a result of over consumption
of fats combined with sugar. Is this true?” Many people believe that if you eat a lot
of fat or you’re a very fat person that that’s what causes Candida and not actually eating
sugar itself. Let’s examine this in a little bit more detail. The reason why people get fat in the first
place is because of their lifestyle. Usually, they eat the wrong kind of food,
they don’t exercise, and they’re highly stressed. I’ve done many previous videos on this. People who become highly stressed have increased
cortisol levels. Those increased cortisol levels really muck
up the insulin sensitivity. It suppresses immune function and also drives
them to want to eat more sugar, salt and fat. Cortisol when it pushes up, pushes the body
into a survival mode. It locks the fat down around the torso because
it thinks the person is in an alarm phase of stress. They’re going to go through a period where
they’re going to not be able to access food. Fat is locked down on the body, so the body
can burn off the fat as energy later on down the track. If you didn’t get stressed out in the first
place and you didn’t make the wrong judgment call when it came to eating and drinking,
you probably wouldn’t get fat in the first place. Fat does not cause Candida. Fat people are often a result of a poor quality
lifestyle and diet combined. Highly stressed people, crappy jobs, crappy
relationships, crappy incomes, crappy living. Sometimes their own fault. In some cases, it’s not their fault. It’s circumstantial due to things beyond their
control. People who get big can get skinny again. But the bigger the person is, the harder it
is for them to lose weight. I’ve worked with several thousand people over
the years who have successfully lost hundreds of pounds in weight. Some of these people have gone through life
transformations. In many cases, they remarried and they’ve
got new occupations. They’ve become much happier as a result and
have been able to keep the weight off for that reason. Many people who are big people are unhappy
people. Unhappy people don’t really care so much about
what they eat anymore because the small amount of sugar or food they take, it’s almost like
a drug. It gives them a temporary high. I really don’t believe that Candida occurs
as a result of too much fat. I think too much fat occurs as a result of
a faulty lifestyle. That fat can absolutely cause problems with
insulin. It can create insulin resistance and allow
sugar to maintain longer in the bloodstream. This in turn can create a lot of problems
for that person. They could end up with Type 2 diabetes or
metabolic syndrome. They’re going to get liver dysfunction. They’re going to get non-alcoholic fatty liver,
which makes them even fatter. They’re going to get more fatigued due to
the buildup of toxins in their bloodstream. They’re going to get sore muscles. Their joints are going to hurt. They’re going to get emotionally depressed. What do depressed people do? They go for a bag of chips. They go for a Hershey bar. They go for a pizza from Dominos and a couple
of DVD to watch because they’re pissed off. They’re depressed. And they’re in this downward spiral. Often people like that attract other people
like that and they support each other’s fatness and unhealthiness. They don’t often hang around people who are
running around outside with a mobile phone strapped to their arm jogging. They’d rather sit on the couch. I don’t feel sorry for a lot of people who
are overweight. I do feel sorry for the fact that they can’t
often get motivated and get up and do things. Anyway, coming back to the conversation. What are you going to do in this situation
when you’ve got a person who believes that Candida occurs as a result of fatness. It doesn’t. There are many, many large people who don’t
have a yeast infection. I’ve seen this as well, too. Not all large people have got an insulin problem. It very much also depends on their diet. But you can do different tests on yourself. For example, you can check for ketosis, to
see if you’re burning fat for energy. That’s one way that you can navigate your
way out of this. Yeah, I don’t think it’s a correct assumption
to make there at all that it occurs due to the overconsumption of fats. Remember, fat consumption doesn’t make people
fat. It’s usually the carbohydrates that make people
fat in the first place. For what it’s worth, that’s my side of the
story. I don’t think it’s true and I think most large
people can lose weight and they have no yeast infection at all. It really depends on their ability to want
to motivate themselves to do that. Thanks for tuning in.

    When I was a raw vegan I felt like I was high all the time looked awful felt like I was gonna pass out . But in my mind I would block all that because I couldn’t believe natural foods were causing me to feel that way I was not eating fat only avocados some days so I do believe it’s the sugar no matter if it’s from fruits

    I thought that when we eat too much fat, that excess fat in the bloodstream diminishes insulin sensitivity, so sugar isn’t carried out as fast as it should to the cells. It accumulates in the bloodstream, feeding the candida yeast that is naturally present there. The candida then proliferates to “eat up” the excess sugar. Candida is the clean up crew after all. The answer isn’t to consume less sugar, or to try to kill the candida — but to go at the root of the problem, that is, to consume less fat. This explains why vegans get candida and why diets that include fatty foods like avocados and nuts never work. I also believe copper plays a major role in controlling candida levels. As can copper toxicity. I don’t think weight is the issue. Fats are relative based on ones metabolism. I’m 6’7” 225 and look “skinny”. Being overweight isn’t the issue, just your fat consumption. People that say candida “feeds” on fat are indeed wrong. It does indeed feed on sugars but only sugars in the blood. I might be totally off here and wrong. I’m not preaching or telling. Just sharing my thoughts. I RESPECT your opinion and obviously expect you to put some serious thought into my theory (unless you think I’m a looney).

    Ive had candida for several years and if I was to judge based on what my body is telling me after eating certain foods, I'd have to believe that too much fat makes my symptoms of candida worse. Could eating too much fat be the cause, idk but when I've tested this theory of eating too much fat, I agree 1000%.

    I tested the fat theory by eating 4-6 packs of Lance crackers at about 16% daily fat per pack and a chicken bacon ranch wrap at 55% of daily fat. That would put me at around 120% of my daily value give or take. I would eat this meal around 7am and by noon I felt the bloating, the dry mouth, gas, Burpees, even my tongue would be heavily coated with thrush. I don't feel anything after eating sugar, unless I intake too much sugar.
