Do Candida Patients Often Have Swollen Lymph Nodes?

August 21, 2019

Hi there, Eric Bakker, naturopath. Thanks for coming back. The question today is: Do Candida patients
often have swollen lymph glands? They don’t often have them, but they can have
them. Lymphadenopathy, or the swelling of lymph
glands, can be found in many parts of the body. Typically, we can find it around the head
and neck. We can find it around the armpits, around
the groin region. We can find it in the chest, even around the
fingers. There are different areas where lymph nodes
can swell up, but the cervical ones are quite common around the neck here. Remember that a swollen lymph gland, or a
problem with the lymph gland, doesn’t necessarily have to be bacterial. It can viral. It can be parasitic. It can be fungal. There are many different types of toxins that
can affect the lymph system. Blood testing and further, obviously, testing
is required if you’ve a lymph problem. If you’ve got lymph nodes swollen in several
areas of the body, then maybe CT scan or other kinds of investigations will need to be done,
obviously, to have a look at what’s going on with your immune system. So, yes, it could be Candida, but not likely. More likely it’ll be mononucleosis. More likely to be a strep throat, more likely
to be a bacteria or a virus, in my opinion. I have seen swollen lymph nodes in Candida,
but only rarely, but they certainly do exist. Thanks for tuning in, and thanks for the question.

I had sinusitis for quite a long time almost a year. Supposedly it's triggered my allergies. My question is can the sinusitis be cause my candida indirectly cause my lymph nodes to act up. I recently started my candida diet an detoxing and cleansing my gut and noticed sensations in my neck lymph area. Connection ?

I've had swollen lymph nodes at the front of my neck for almost 2 months now. I developed CFS and IBS after a viral infection last summer. My Nutritionist put me on a Anti-Candida diet after evaluating me and I have almost recovered 100%. Only remaining issue is swollen lymph nodes and a mild sore throat…
