Can A Yeast Infection Cause Bloating?

August 13, 2019

Good day there, Eric Bakker, naturopath and
author of Candida Crusher. Here’s another question I get asked from time to time. Can a yeast infection cause bloating? Very much so; bloating is one of the key digestive
problems that many are likely to encounter with a yeast infection, bloating, gas and
burping. These are key things I find with people. People
with bloating have to loosen the waist band after a meal. Are you the kind of person who
wants a dessert after your meal or like ice cream or pudding or something sweet or like
a biscuit with a cup of coffee or a cup of tea or a cookie? These are reasons why people
get bloating. They have a meal and they put sugar on top of the meal or they have sugary
meals between meals. So you’re basically feeding up the yeast and causing what I call fermentative
dysbiosis. So you’re causing fermentation in the gut, which creates gas and bloating.
And how does it get out? Through the anus there, through flatulence. Are you a person who passes a lot of wind?
It could well be a yeast infection. And you may well have other signs and symptoms as
well. Look at some of my other videos to see if you can recognize any of the other signs
and symptoms of a yeast infection. I hope that clears up your question because
a yeast infection can certainly cause bloating and you can read a lot more about all these
digestive signs and symptoms in Chapter 3 of my book, Candida Crusher. Thank you.

    Hi Mr Bakker,

Thank you for all of the information you put out there. I really appreciate your no nonsense attitude, it is really refreshing. I will buy the Candida Crusher book along with your recommended supplements. Due to long term chronic illness (confirmed Candida, IBS, leaky gut syndrome, Coeliac disease, depression, anxiety, chronic lower back pain, narcolepsy, MTHFR, pyroluria, cystic acne and severe hair loss), I have been unable to work for the last 3 years. With no income it just takes me quite a long time to save up for these things.

In the meantime, I wanted to ask you a question about severe abdominal bloating that just continues to get worse. Although I'm a small frame and not overweight, I have a severely protruding stomach as though I had swallowed a beach ball. It used to be completely flat in the morning and then swell up as the day went by, regardless of what I ate and how I ate it. However, my stomach is now severely bloating 24/7, forcing me to go up 2 whole dress sizes. This, along with constantly being asked when my baby is due, has turned me into a social recluse.

I have undertaken the following steps:
    – I have been diagnosed with Celiac disease and as a result have not eaten gluten containing products since 2005
    – I began eating only organic whole foods from July 2015 (I grow a lot myself because it's much cheaper). Prior to this I ate a typical Australian diet
    – I eliminated all sugar (including fruit, sweeteners and artificial sweeteners), all grains and all dairy from my diet from February 2016
    – I haven't had a drink of alcohol in 7 years
    – I started taking a probiotic called SB Flora by BioCeuticals from December 2015 and MultiBac by Vitality and Wellness from January 2016
    – I always make sure my water (RO) is room temperature and I very slowly sip between 2 – 3 litres throughout the day
    – I have tried pre-digesting my food via juicing (vegetable only, no fruit), soups etc. However, I still experience quite severe bloating
    – I have tried mashing and excessively chewing my food before swallowing and only have very small bites of each meal spaced over an 1 – 1.5 hours. However I still experience quite severe bloating.
    – I used to be severely constipated and not have a BM for weeks, but now I have them once per day.
    – I have done a parasite cleanse before using clove, black walnut and wormwood, but didn't feel any different or notice any improvement in my symptoms

    In addition to this:
    – I practice breathing exercises 3 x per day
    – I don't watch any TV (I don't own one) and I read before bed for about an hour
    – I get 8 – 10 hours of sleep each night
    – I am not on medication – I had previously taken the birth control pill up until 5 years ago. I have previously taken several rounds of antibiotics, but I haven't taken any for over a year (and won't take them again). I was also on antidepressants for 17 years and gradually took myself off of them in December 2015.
    – I have had my hormones and thyroid checked, and all of the results came back within the upper and lower limits
    – I have had a pelvic scan and the results came back clear. Although, when I did have my scan, the sonographer had quite a lot of trouble locating my ovaries because she said I had so much trapped gas in my bowels/intestines. I rarely every pass wind, so it must just stay in there?
    – I had the Gardasil vaccine in 2008 and ever since that day, I was a totally different person. Immediately after my first shot, I could not stop sleeping and when a "sleep attack" comes on, nothing can stop it.
    – Since July 2015, I suddenly began getting cystic acne (I'm 35).
    – Since July 2015, I suddenly developed extremely greasy/oily hair that would not correct, no matter how many times I washed it or whether I used organic, natural shampoos vs chemical 'prescription only' shampoos. It feels like a thick wax has coated my hair to the point it doesn't even feel like human hair anymore. No doctor or dermatologist can find the cause.
    – Since December 2015 (shortly after gradually going off antidepressants), clumps of hair started falling out. To date, I've now lost about half of my head of hair.

I'm hoping you might be able to pinpoint something I'm doing wrong or suggest something I could do to help lessen my abdominal distention in between saving up for the Candida Crusher and the Remove and Restore products. I apologise for the length of my comment, but I've become so desperate after seeing so many doctors and specialists and trying so many different things. It seems like a never ending fight just to barely survive, let alone be healthy. I can't remember what it is like to feel good or have energy to do the basic, simple things in life.

    Thank you for your time.

    Lara
