December 29, 2019

Now how do we detect TiLV, the Tilapia Virus? It can be detected, as I said, by Realtime PCR. Generally, fish pathology laboratories have this possibility of examining and testing. Also today one in the private market there is a portable field PCR available. We use it in our company. It’s a very small device something like that, and there is a test for the tilapia virus In about an hour and a half to two hours you can receive a response negative or positive of the virus. A sample is usually taken of the brain and liver to be examined. And we also have histopathology. It can also be used to identify the virus but only as a complement to the PCR test
