Alan Sugar, M.D. | Ophthalmologist, Michigan Medicine

December 15, 2019

– My father was an ophthalmologist and loved ophthalmology and
my father taught my brother and I from when we were little kids by discussing ophthalmology
at the dinner table, so I’ve always wanted to
be an ophthalmologist. I’m a calm person and I
like to let my calmness and approach decrease their
fear, try to calm them down. I think what I like most is being able to make people see better,
to relieve people’s pain, to see them happy when
they start out not so. I’ve been here for 40 years because I like it here, I like
working with other people, I like being respected for what I do, having the resources
to do what I want to do and what I do best. So, I think this is a great place to work.
