7 Steps to Healthy Teeth and Gums

August 17, 2019

Hi, I’m Jordan Rubin. Welcome to Ancient Medicine Today. We’re going to talk about a topic that’s important
to everyone, at least if you have teeth. And I can tell you this much. This information has got teeth, meaning, it
is going to absolutely work to transform your teeth and gums. Unfortunately, your oral health is often neglected. But if you will take some simple steps on
a daily basis, develop good oral hygiene, I believe that you can remain cavity-free
and not have to do some dental procedures that are invasive, painful, and even dangerous
to your health such as root canals, implants, etc. We want to keep our teeth. We want to keep them healthy because as your
mouth goes, your whole body goes. So let’s get started, seven steps to healthy
teeth and gums. And as always, if you’re loving this information,
click your Like button and press that Share button to let people know that there is a
way to naturally transform and maintain the health of your mouth. Number one, massaging the gums. Now, folks, this is really, really important
and I like to do this with a vibrating toothbrush. Vibrating toothbrushes help to shake off plaque. They’re easy to get, brands such as Sonicare
and others. I use it. I also love the fact that it has a built-in
timer. I don’t know about you but I lose track of
time and you want to brush your teeth for approximately two minutes. You want to make sure that you’re massaging
your gums as you do it. Now, you can certainly massage your gums with
your fingers as long as they’re clean, maybe put some essential oil on it. But massaging your gums daily, multiple times
with a vibrating toothbrush is a great way to get rid of plaque and make those dental
visits less painful. Number two, flossing. Simple, right? Not so simple. In fact, I admit it. I didn’t floss when I was a child or teenager. And I have a family history of receding gums. So if I look at my mom’s side of the family,
not great oral health. One of the reasons I didn’t floss was the
picture on the screen. I don’t like to tie the thing around the . . . anyway,
it’s hard. I think it’s hard. I like those little floss pickers where your
single application. I do it twice a day. It is really good because if you floss and
you’re bleeding, you know that your gums have issues. I have proven, personally, that even if your
gums recede, you can rebuild gum tissue by following this information, have whiter teeth,
fresher breath, better overall oral health, and transform the health of your whole body. Number three, clove oil. Clove oil has eugenol. Clove oil is antiseptic and it’s healing. We know that if we have tooth pain, dabbing
clove oil there is a great remedy. I like to take clove oil and dilute it with
water or oil, as we’ll talk about in a moment, and swish it around my mouth and then spit
it out. You can swallow a little clove oil. It’s really, really good for you but it’s
one of the best oral health topicals known to man. So make sure to get clove essential oil, I
recommend organic, in your regimen. What I also do is on my toothbrush or toothpaste,
drop one or two drops of clove oil each and every time I brush. Number three, and probably my favorite, oil
pulling. If you haven’t heard of this, it is one of
the best ways to maintain proper oral health. What do you do? You take oil. And in the Ayurvedic tradition, they would
use sesame oil but a lot of people today use coconut oil as pictured. You take a half a teaspoon. You swish it around your mouth. Make sure to work it through your teeth and
around your gums. It will naturally whiten your teeth and help
remove toxins in your mouth. But be advised. Spit out the resulting liquid because after
a while, it grows and grows and grows. Spit it out because there’s lots of debris
that you do not want to re-ingest. Oil pulling is best done once or twice a day
for 5 to 20 minutes at a time. I highly recommend it. You can even combine oil, such as coconut,
with essential oils such as clove and make that your oil pulling. The fifth step to healthy teeth and gums because
everybody needs them, is using silver. I like to use silver liquid and I like to
swish it in my mouth, and in this case, swallow it. It is antimicrobial and kills some of the
germs that cause plaque. I recommend consuming about a teaspoon of
colloidal silver or ionic silver or silver hydrosol one to three times a day. You can find it at your local health food
store. There are some great brands, but make sure
that you do that one to three times a day. Unlike oil pulling, you let it sit in your
mouth, under your tongue about 30 seconds, then you swallow. Make sure to sort of swish it around as well. Helps with oral infections. Number six, CoQ10. CoQ10 is a nutrient that is very important
for gum health. Take CoQ10 up to 200 milligrams a day in either
ubiquinone or ubiquinol form for great gum health. It is really powerful. There are also some herbs that we didn’t mention. Atractylodes is a really good herb. Traditional Chinese herbs are great for gum
health. CoQ10 is really solid as a beneficial compound
for your gums. And last but not least, oral probiotics. Now, be advised. There are many probiotics for the gut, soil-based
organisms, saccharomyces boulardii, lactobacillus plantarum. But there are specific probiotics for oral
health and you can type in “oral health probiotics” in a search. There’s even oral probiotics that can whiten
your teeth, that can reduce germs such as strep mutans which cause cavities and caries,
and there’s even oral probiotics that reduce the incidence of strep. Key is, you need a probiotics to make contact
with your mouth. You either use a lozenge or swish some powder
and you’ve got it. Now keep this in mind. Acidophilus, which is a powerful probiotic,
loves acid and creates acid. That is not something you want to swish around
in your mouth. You don’t want a lot of sour elements in your
mouth because that can begin to dissolve dentin and some of the hard tissue within your teeth. But specific oral health probiotics have been
studied to reduce cavities, whiten your teeth, and freshen your breath while also improving
your overall health. Folks, all of us have teeth and gums and we
want them to be healthy. We need to understand that an ounce of prevention
here is worth a pound of cure. So if you are loving this information, punch
that Like button and click that Share button to let anyone you know that they can follow
seven simple steps to improve the health of their gum and teeth so that their next dental
visit, their dentist says, “Man, what are you doing? This is really, really great.” So just a recap. Seven steps to healthy teeth and gums here
on Ancient Medicine Today. Massage your gums. I like using a vibrating sonic toothbrush. It also has a timer, helps you brush long
enough. Number two, flossing. If you don’t like the flosser on your fingers,
use individual floss picks. They’re really, really great. Clove oil, swish it around your mouth, put
it on your toothpaste one to two drops whenever you brush. Amazing for the health of your teeth and gums,
antibacterial. Oil pulling. Half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of coconut,
sesame, or even olive oil. You can sprinkle some essential oils in there,
5 to 20 minutes twice a day, swish it around your mouth. Spit it out when you’re done. You’ll love it. Silver, whether it’s colloidal, ionic, or
silver hydrosol, one teaspoon one to three times a day. Thirty seconds, hold it in your mouth then
swallow for great oral health. CoQ10’s a great compound that you can consume
in supplement form, 50 to 200 milligrams a day for your gums. Last but not least, oral probiotics to help
destroy streptococcus mutans, whiten your teeth, freshen your breath, prevent against
strep infections. How amazing is that? And also help with your overall oral health. Folks, some of the greatest nutritionist of
all time have been dentists because the mouth may, in fact, be a window of the body. And now, you can have whiter teeth, fresher
breath, healthier gums, and your best dental visit ever by following these seven steps
to healthy teeth and gums right here on Ancient Medicine Today. By the way, we’re here every day giving you

Baking soda mouthwash is cheap and highly effective. I would add that to the list. A xylitol toothpaste (fluoride free) is highly recommended, too. I can vouch for oil pulling — huge difference in my teeth in less than a week. I floss, swish with baking soda mouthwash, oil pull with raw whole kernel coconut oil for 20 minutes, then brush with my Sonicare.

    1. Massaging gums does not remove plaque, it massages the gum tissue

    2. There is only one method for whitening tooth enamel, which is peroxide. You've mentioned cleaning substances, which might remove some plaque and/or removable surface staining on the enamel.

    3. Acidic substances do not dissolve dentine, rather, they erode enamel. Enamel is the outer surface of the tooth, whereas dentine is inside the tooth, the next layer of the tooth, behind the enamel.

    4. Clove oil should not be used in the mouth unless there is an infection. Using clove oil as you have suggested, on a tooth brush and as a mouth rinse, will only kill the good bacteria, which is necessary for healthy mucosa and gingival tissue, which may lead to a variety of oral infections.

How do I know this? I am a senior dental nurse.

  • Reply Sa Sha February 14, 2017 at 10:38 pm

thank you for the video. There are a few more tips that I use every day. 1. As clove oil, tea tree oil is also very good for flossing with. 2. Baking soda with apple cider vinegar – brush your teeth with this combination at least one time a day. 3. Hydro-flossing is a great care for your teeth as well. 4. Use hydrogen peroxide – hold in the mouse for about 5 min after each teeth brushing and your teeth will be white and shiny.

  • Reply Sean Newhouse February 16, 2017 at 3:15 pm

Yes, lightly massaging the gums while brushing also helps what I do too is even use my showerhead and spray it inside my mouth

  • Reply Christina February 16, 2017 at 10:22 pm

For anyone reading this, please be cautious about using clove essential oil. I added one drop to my toothpaste and it burned my whole mouth, including my tongue.

  • Reply floy70 February 21, 2017 at 6:35 pm

I would add that K2 is important in teeth health. I used to use a sonic tooth brush but I stopped because of the frequency or energy the tooth brush resonated at. Decided it wasn't worth it for me.

  • Reply James Swansburg February 24, 2017 at 4:19 pm

Nice video, BUT the number one item on your list should have been Vitamin K2. You can watch the build-up on the back of your lower teeth disappear as you remove the excess calcium and put it into the teeth and bones.

I noticed apple cider vinegar removes plaque and coconut oil. I think plaque must be related to fungal or candida, yeast or bacteria that feeds on sugar.
Is that real silver because some people have take low quality silver and actually turned silver it was on the doctors show.
What do you think about kemchi or sour crout for healthy gut bacteria?
Plus what about organic yogurt in your mouth would that help?

  • Reply Ideoform Sun December 27, 2017 at 12:29 am

Hello, thank you for the information.
I have a suggestion. On suggestion #5 Silver, the photo seems to be of liquid mercury, which is extremely toxic in very small doses. I hope there is no one who will confuse the two and ingest mercury by mistake.

  • Reply Bob Bach January 26, 2018 at 2:40 am

I don't think colloidal silver is good advice. There was a guy in my neighborhood with Argyria, a permanent grey discoloration caused by over consumption of Colloidal Silver, seeing him was a strong reminder to stay away from the stuff. Seems to me no one has set a limit as to how much one might take before this happens? The other suggestions seem more sound, however excessive brushing of the gums will cause them to recede as well. I have noticed others have mentiion K2 (natto) .. will give it a try.

oral health is an indication of your general health. first start with blood work, check vit d, b12, cal, etc… take high potency multi mineral and vit supplelement for a while and discontinue, reduce sugar, eat lots of organic green leafy vegetables raw and cooked, include healthy fats like butter, ghee, cod liver oil ,olive oil, almonds, walnuts, sea fish, ingest lots of probiotic, exercise, meditate to reduce stress, as this depletes your body of everything, and most important, have enough sleep.
